Welcome to Component Manager's Configuration Guide. Follow the steps below to configure your project and manage project roles and permissions efficiently.

Admin Configuration:

Setup Project Role:

  1. Log in to your Jira instance as an administrator.

  2. Click on the "Settings" dropdown, and select "System."

2. Access Project Roles:

  1. In the left-hand menu, find and click on "Project roles."

3. Create a New Project Role:

  1. Click "Add Project Role," provide a name for the new role, and click the "Add Project Role" button.

4. Go to Project Settings:

  1. Choose "Settings" > "Projects" to navigate to your project settings.

  2. Select the specific project you want to configure.

  3. Click on "Project settings."

5. Edit Project Permissions:

  1. In the project settings, click on "Permissions."

  2. On the top right, click the "Actions" button, and select "Edit Permissions."

6. Update Permissions:

  1. Click the "Update" button after making any necessary changes.

7. Add Project Role:

  1. In the "Edit Permissions" section, add the newly created project role:

    • Click on "Add Project Role."

    • Select the role you created earlier.

  1. Finally, click "Update" to save your changes.

Managing Project Members

8. Grant Project Permissions:

In the project settings, click on "People."

  2. Locate Project Roles from left menu

Permission Scheme Update:

  1. Navigate to Permission Scheme

  2. Settings → Issues → Permissions

  3. Click 'Permissions' on the permission scheme associated to respective project(s)

  4. Add newly created role to Component Manager permission

  5. You can choose other Roles/other modes to grant Component Manager permission

Project Admin Configuration

Granting User Permission

  1. Navigate to Project settings → People

  2. Add User/group to Component Manager/respective role added by your Jira admin on your permission scheme
